Last year, MBWIRANDUMVA Initiative took a bold step to expand its inclusivity by reaching out to mothers raising children with disabilities. Through a collaboration with TUJYANEMO HDVC (Help for Self-Help to Disabled and Vulnerable Children), we formed a strong partnership to support families facing double vulnerability—caring for children with special needs while struggling to survive in poverty without stable income. We could not leave them behind
We created a safe space for them to rebuild their lives. Since many were living in desperate conditions and scattered areas, the project began by securing nearby rented houses where they could stay and study in dignity. From there, we provided transport, physiotherapy services, and vocational training in tailoring. Alongside this, we supplied materials and consumables, connected them to industrial attachments, and gave special support such as counseling, start-up kits, and wheelchairs—ensuring these mothers were not only included, but truly empowered
Through our vocational skills program’MBWIRANDUMVA TVET CENTER’, trainees transform their lives by producing high-quality garments, limbags, arts, and crafts. By purchasing these products, you are not only supporting vulnerable women, teen mothers, school dropouts, and survivors of gender-based violence—you are helping them sustain themselves and restore hope.
